Old Hearts

about

Ten years ago Mike went through a bit of an obsession with Christmas songs. The idea was to try and write a Christmas song every year. As with most things, it only happened the first year! A 'this day in 2010' Facebook post sent him down memory lane only to find that this song doesn't seem to exist anywhere on the internet. So here it is ten years later with perhaps a more appropriate message than ever.

lyrics

It's dark outside / and It's silent night / It's Christmastime / Turning all the lights down low / Watching as the candles glow / Singing all the songs we know / Tell me are you lonely here / I guess it's just that time of year / Well I can overcome your fears / Old Heart, Old Heart, Do you know you're loved / You look for love / You look at everything you have / Then look into the stars above / There are things you had to leave / Things that you used to believe / Well I was never one of these / Old Heart, do you know you're loved / There's light and love / and you'll know your worth / There is peace on earth
